Natural sports nutrition company, Protein Rebel, has launched Run Easy marine collagen peptides powder. Created for runners, Run Easy has been made with just one ingredient – pure marine collagen – helping to strengthen joints and ligaments to reduce the risk of injury.

With 50 percent of runners experiencing an injury each year – generally as a result of overuse of the knees, ankles and feet – the consumption of sufficient collagen can help with injury prevention. Known to support the health of bones, tendons, ligaments, skin and other connective tissues, Run Easy marine collagen from white fish replaces the collagen we naturally lose from the age of about 20 onwards, helping our bodies to better withstand the mechanical demands of running.

“As a runner myself, I’m fully aware of the pressures our bodies are put under when running long distances” says Tim Boote, Founder of Protein Rebel. “Run Easy has the ideal amino acid profile for improving joint health, accelerating recovery after exercise while reducing muscle soreness.”

Run Easy is pure and unflavoured marine collagen powder with no added sweeteners, preservatives, gums or fillers to ensure its fast acting and easy to digest. Being hydrolysed (broken down into tiny peptide particles), this means its absorbed easier by the body, with marine collagen up to 1.5 times faster acting than bovine and porcine collagen.

Marine collagen is also considerably more sustainable that other forms of collagen, with fish using far less land and feed than cattle and pigs, and emitting far fewer greenhouse gases.

Boote says, “As the marine collagen in Run Easy is made from fish skin – an often discarded by-product – more of the fish is used, producing less waste and enabling a more efficient use of resources. Run Easy is also the first U.K-based collagen brand that uses tins which is the most sustainable packaging choice available as metal can be infinitely recycled.”

When mixed with liquids such as water, fruit juice, coffee and smoothies, or added to foods such as porridge and yoghurts, Run Easy dissolves and becomes odourless within a couple of minutes. By taking five grams of Run Easy twice a day, runners can expect to notice improvements to their joints, ligaments and tendons (as well as their skin, hair and nails) from about six weeks onwards.

Boote adds, “We believe in providing the very best all-natural sports nutrition for reaching optimum performance levels. And so we’ve chosen the highest quality marine collagen we could find, and have added absolutely nothing to it. This ensures runners enjoy the maximum benefits of collagen without consuming unnecessary additives that could compromise their health.”

Run Easy retails at £13.99 for 100g (20 servings of 5g) and is available at www.proteinrebel.com

The launch offer provides 10% off the standard price (for a limited time only).
