Moodle, a global leader in open-source learning platforms, today announced a significant evolution of its annual conference. Starting in 2026, MoodleMoot Global will be transformed into MIX (Moodle Ideas Exchange), a new event focused on collaboration and innovation, which will take place in Istanbul, Turkey.
For over 20 years, Moodle has been dedicated to making education more accessible worldwide. The annual global gathering has been a cornerstone of this mission since 2019, providing a forum for the Moodle community to share ideas and foster connections. The new MIX event aims to amplify this impact, bringing together leaders from education, business, and the public sector to discuss strategies for building a more open, inclusive, and equitable world.
“We’re at a pivotal moment in history, where our future together depends on the very best ideas for how we’ll thrive,” says Moodle CEO Scott Anderberg. “Over twenty years of Moodle community engagement suggests the best ideas come from getting passionate people together and letting their creativity flourish. That’s what we want our global event to be — an opportunity for great ideas to have space, collaboration, and life inside a vibrant community — and we want the identity of our gathering to clearly invite that.”
MIX will retain the lively and engaging atmosphere of past MoodleMoot Global events while introducing visionary keynotes, groundbreaking workshops, and collaborative panels designed to generate new ideas and partnerships. The choice of Istanbul as the host city for 2026 was intentional, serving as a symbolic meeting point between Europe and Asia and offering a blend of rich cultural history and a thriving tech scene.
The event is a platform for a diverse global community to actively shape the future of learning. Attendees will have the opportunity to be inspired, collaborate, and gain practical tools and connections to create a lasting, positive impact through learning. Registration is open to receive updates on MIX 26, including early bird deals.
