Titus Appointed by Expert Witness Institute to Modernise Professional Standards Training

Yorkshire-based digital learning specialist Titus has been appointed by the Expert Witness Institute (EWI), the UK’s leading professional body for experts across all disciplines.

The EWI, which provides training, support, and accreditation for experts giving evidence in litigation, has selected Titus to oversee a comprehensive digital transformation of its learning infrastructure. The project will see the migration of the Institute’s professional development programmes to a fully managed and bespoke Moodle LMS environment.

The partnership is a cornerstone of EWI’s 2026-2030 strategy to enhance its members’ professional standards. By utilising Titus’s expertise in high-compliance sectors, the Institute aims to offer a more streamlined, accessible, and robust certification process for experts navigating the complexities of providing expert opinion.

This appointment follows a string of high-profile wins for Titus this quarter, including major digital projects for the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and Staffordshire County Council.

Simon Berney-Edwards, Chief Executive Officer at the Expert Witness Institute, said: “Ensuring our members and the wider profession have easy access to world-class training is vital for maintaining the high standards of expert evidence in disputes. We are delighted to partner with Titus, whose technical expertise and understanding of complex professional requirements make them the ideal partner to help us evolve our digital offering.

Throughout the selection process, they demonstrated a fundamental understanding of what we want to achieve, and their experience with other similar professional bodies provided us with confidence that the end result will meet the needs of learners.”

Luke Tillotson, Head of Sales at Titus, added: “Partnering with the EWI is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate how Moodle can be tailored for highly specialised professions where members are subject to a range of legal rules and regulations which must be complied with. We aren’t merely delivering a platform; we are helping to safeguard the quality of expertise provided in legal proceedings across the country. It is a project that carries significant responsibility, and our team is proud to be at the heart of it.”

Building on this momentum, the implementation of the new digital learning environment is slated to begin immediately, with a phased rollout expected later this year. As the Expert Witness Institute moves toward its 2030 strategic goals, this partnership with Titus ensures that the UK’s expert witnesses remain at the forefront of professional excellence.
